Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with welding and small engine repair experience to join our team. Class A CDL license a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and repairing diesel and gas engines. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet.
Responsibilities
•
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas engines, including tractor-trailers.
•
Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
•
Repair or replace defective parts such as shocks, struts, and other suspension components.
•
Conduct equipment repairs and ensure all work meets safety standards.
•
Utilize power tools effectively for various repair tasks.
•
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
•
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
•
Assist with heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
•
Skills
•
Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for mechanical repairs.
•
Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including troubleshooting techniques.
•
Experience with suspension systems, specifically shocks and struts.
•
Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during equipment repairs.
•
Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
•
Familiarity with soldering techniques for electrical repairs is a plus.
•
Previous experience as a service technician is preferred but not mandatory.
