Die Cast Operators work on skill levels, each level passed comes with pay increase!
We are currently looking for Die Cast Step up Operators! The primary purpose of this position is to develop employees to perform the role of Die Cast Operator. This is a great position with lots of opportunity for growth! Training is provided. We offer great benefits and competitive pay!
Major Responsibilities of Position
•“Every employee has the responsibility to comply with all safety rules and programs established by Magnesium Products of America (MPA)”. (Taken from Section 9.1 of the Employee Handbook Safe Working Policy)
•Successfully completed and applied the principles of Meridian’s Die Cast 101 Classroom Training with a 85% or higher test score
•Successfully completed Meridian’s 48 Hour Die Cast Job Shadow Program
•Maintain tools and cell area in a safe, proper and clean condition
•Set up and operate the die cast machine and related equipment in an efficient and proper manner
•Ensure all material coming in/out of cell are labeled and recorded properly
•Independently troubleshoot equipment or quality problems produced by the machine
•Assist maintenance, tool room and engineering personnel in the repair and continuous improvement activities
•Meet customer production schedules
•Achieve and maintain uptime targets
•Achieve and maintain acceptable scrap levels
•Maintain good communications with peers, function leaders and managers
•Work in cooperation with other departments to achieve business objectives
•Monitor and control the quality and process of the parts produced.
•Passed authorized level of training and practical test of lockout
•Guide and direct the general duties working with you at your assigned machine/cell. Escalate all concerns to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor in a manner that supports a productive working environment.

Educational and Certification Background
•High school diploma or equivalent - Essential
•Minimum of six months’ experience working in a manufacturing environment; 1 year preferred. Experience with molten metal a plus - Essential
•Possess mechanical ability and be knowledgeable in the use of hand tools. - Essential
Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):
•Must have regular and punctual attendance
•Must be able to stand for long periods of time (12-hour shift pattern)
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds
•Must be able to perform physical labor for long periods of time
•Must be able to work overtime
•Must be able to follow directions of a supervisor
•Must be cooperative with other employees
•Must be quality conscious with an emphasis on operating to the Work Instruction
•Be familiar with hydraulics and pneumatics or willingness to learn.
•Be familiar with the operations of the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or willing to learn.
•Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing, effectively
•Ability to work independently or in a team environment
•Ability to communicate, educate and coach new team members

Work Environment
•Automotive manufacturing environment: shift work, i.e., 8 to 12 hours during the week with 8 hours shifts required on the weekends.
•Production Environment: Includes exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid conditions; standard tools available; extreme temperatures during the summer and winter months can be expected

Pay: $20.36 - $20.86 per hour
