Dewatering Technician

Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Dewatering Supervisor, the incumbent performs maintenance on a variety of machinery, wells, pump systems, and HDPE and /or steel pipelines throughout the mine property.

This position is based out of Round Mountian, NV and the scheudle is 7 on, 7 off.

Job Responsibilities

- Knowledgeable on proper procedures for install and removal of various pumping systems Preferred.

- Pump truck experience preferred.

- Operate various pieces of small equipment.

- Use of various hand tools.

- Lifting and loading weights up to 50 lbs.

- Practice safety at all times.

- Comply with all MSHA and RMGC safety regulations.

- Responsible to manage the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.

- Willing to work 7 on 7 off schedule, dayshift.

Education and Experience

- Previous experience operating forklift, backhoe, fusing machines, and other small equipment.

- Demonstrate willingness to help with any job, and get along with co-workers.

- Welding experience is preferred but not required.

- Comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.

- Demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical inspections, and workplace inspections.

- Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.

- Requires valid driver’s license.

- Must be able to meet “Authorized User” requirements for High Risk Activities, including but not limited to Fall Protection, Hot Work, and Confined Space, as required by job duties, departments and Round Mountain Gold Corporation’s Permit to Work policies.

- Works under direct supervision of the Dewatering Supervisor
