Design Technician II - (Electric Distribution)

What You'll Do

Support a variety of utility design projects, including storm hardening (relocating/reframing lines to prevent outages), new construction, residential and commercial projects, solar farms/panels, reconductoring, removals, and fault sensor installations. Complete design tasks such as drafting, calculations, easement validation, cost estimating, and permit package development. Manage multiple tasks to meet project timelines, budgets, and client expectations. Communicate professionally with clients, stakeholders, and team members, while following company safety rules, design standards, and governing authority regulations. Identify errors, update client records accurately, perform QC checks, and train junior team members. Ensure high-quality work, support construction coordination, and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

- 1-2 years of prior experience in electric distribution

- Proficiency in drafting/design software (e.g., ArcFM, ArcMap, Infor or Pole Foreman, AutoCAD) preferred

- Associates degree preferred

- Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment.
