Overview
Palmer is seeking a motivated Design Research Intern to support market and product research initiatives. This role is ideal for students interested in understanding how design, products, and market trends intersect. The intern will work alongside the marketing and product teams to gather insights that inform product development, design strategy, and market positioning.
This role requires strong research, organizational, and communication skills, along with an interest in design-driven industries.
- Conduct competitive and market landscape research across architecture, interior design, and product design industries
- Identify emerging design, product, and material trends relevant to the market
- Compile research findings into clear summaries, presentations, and reports
- Assist in identifying opportunities for new products or product improvements
- Organize research documentation, references, and visual inspiration libraries
- Support marketing and product teams with insight gathering and research tasks
- Participate in internal discussions, reviews, and collaborative work sessions related to product and market strategy
- Undergraduate, graduate, or graduating senior pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to synthesize information and communicate insights clearly
- Interest in design, architecture, or product development
- Familiarity with design research, trend analysis, or market research methods
- Experience compiling visual references, competitive research, or design documentation
- Interest in how design insights translate into product development or marketing strategy
