We're seeking an experienced and motivated Design and Manufacturing Technician to help us design, build, and improve our products and processes. If you're hands-on, mechanically inclined, and passionate about turning creative ideas into engineered solutions, we want you on our team.
3D Design of Parts and Mechanical Assemblies
- Design and modify structural and mechanical components using Fusion 360 and Autodesk Inventor.
- Develop assemblies with proper tolerancing, fasteners, and material selection for durability and manufacturability.
- Create engineering drawings and documentation for production and quality assurance.
- Operate and maintain FDM 3D printers; prepare files, slice models, and troubleshoot issues.
- Post-process and assemble printed parts.
- Integrate 3D printed parts with traditional materials and components.
- Assist in lamination setup for multilayer composites, including alignment, fixturing, and adhesive bonding.
- Work with sheet goods to prepare, align, and press bonded assemblies.
- Monitor quality and consistency of lamination outcomes.
- Design and assist in fabrication of custom dies, jigs, and fixtures for press operations, cutting, and assembly.
- Participate in prototyping and iterative improvements.
- Assist in CNC or manual production operations as required.
- Collaborate with design and production teams on product development.
- Resolve mechanical or manufacturing issues.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in design and manufacturing, ideally in a prototyping or custom shop.
- Skilled in 3D CAD software (Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks).
- Familiar with design, custom manufacturing setup techniques, and lamination processes.
- Comfortable with tools and precision measurement equipment.
- Strong mechanical intuition, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Able to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
- CNC or manual machining.
- Composite bonding, molding or vacuum forming experience.
- Knowledge of thermoplastics, rubber, metals, and adhesives.
- CAM software or G-code familiarity.
