Job Overview

Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team and have responsibility for a variety costing and inventory activities. This position is principally responsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month end closing activities, reporting and controls.

A Day In The Life

- Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.

- Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.

- Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances.

- Providing analysis and support to Internal and External Audits of the businesses.

- Reviewing, analyzing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labor, material and overhead.

- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences.

- Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts.

- Support for internal and external audit activities.

- Complete ad hoc financial information requests.

- Performs other related work as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?

- 1-3 years cost accounting experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

- Strong analytical, planning and communication skills.

- Strong computer skills; proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel & Word.
