Cortez - Open Pit Electrician

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Open Pit Electrician to join our Cortez operations. A successful candidate will have the capabilities to perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.

Responsibilities

- Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems. Utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

- Performs general maintenance duties

- Work on projects throughout the entire facility running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices, using lifts and ladders.

- Perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.

- Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems.

- Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.

- Provides excellent customer service.

- Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- A minimum of 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Commercial Electrician required

- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment required

- Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book required

- Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC required

- Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components required

- Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics preferred

- Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification preferred

- Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high required

- Ability to lift and carry at least 90 pounds required.

- Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision required.

- Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required.

- Excellent organizational, time management skills required.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required.

- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus required.

- Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required.

- Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required.

- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required.

- Willingness to work weekends and possible overtime required.

- Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions required.
