Description:
This is a critical role within the Finance organization that leads capital planning and supporting the financial strategy for the company’s capital needs and key priorities. Well-suited candidates will be eager to work on complex problems to enable the company’s projects to be successfully deployed.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead corporate capital planning, forecasting, and scenario planning as needed
•Coordinate cross-functionally with executives and business leads across procurement, engineering, commercial, development, accounting, and capital investment to develop financial planning architecture that enables long-term business success and sustainable best practices
•Create and manage accurate, well-structured corporate financial models for the business and enable both short-term and long-term cash and capital planning
•Work closely with executive team to support Board meetings, including quarterly presentations, key initiatives, and analysis of board requests as needed
•Support key strategic initiatives with leadership by evaluating and delivering conclusions on the financial impact of various capital raising and investment strategies
•Develop presentations and external facing materials to support capital raising initiatives, and support investor communications on the company story and business plan
•Lead the annual budgeting process through coordination with leadership, investors, and lenders
•Work with the CIO to manage the company’s capital plan and optimize the cost of capital
•Work with the Treasury team on liquidity forecasting and cash flow optimization
•Lead the development and reporting of key business success metrics to executives and significant variances to corporate forecasts
•Lead / support analysis on issues in the market with significant implications on the company
•Assist in corporate tax structuring initiatives and planning, and in investor and lender relations including capital calls and ad-hoc requests
•Support structured transactions at the project and corporate level as needed, including project acquisition negotiations and documentation
•Support development and commercial strategic initiatives as needed, including market entry, commercial structures, and process improvements
Key Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred;
•5 to 8 years of experience in a finance-focused role, including corporate finance, management consulting, investment banking, structured finance, or similar;
•Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, creativity, autonomy, and a desire to take on additional responsibilities as the company expands;
•Successful track record of leading long-term corporate planning activities;
•Strong business acumen, exceptional judgment, and the ability to autonomously identify and implement practical solutions to complex business problems;
•Preference for strong understanding of accounting principles or CFA
•Preference for direct, relevant experience in renewable or energy storage industry, and understanding of utility-scale project development;
•Preference for network of relevant market participants in the energy industry;
•Preference for experience with structured energy products or wholesale power markets;
•Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail;
•Expert proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
