The Strategic Planning & Operational Excellence executive is responsible for working with the Executive Leadership to develop and execute a strategic vision and plan to deliver CPS Energy’s mission. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans while simultaneously working to maximize efficiency, quality, and overall business performance, by identifying areas for improvement, implementing continuous improvement methodologies, and aligning business processes/operations with the company's strategic goals across business units.
The executive leads a team of professionals who work across the enterprise to develop, communicate, report and assist change management for long term vision/mission including a rolling 5-year strategic plan with milestones. Works with business planning to align annual business plans (including budget, performance measures and metrics) to the long-range plans/outcomes. Responsibilities include planning, performance improvement, proactive identification of risks and working with leaders across the organization. This position may also lead significant cross-enterprise programs and projects.
The executive is responsible for thought leadership, planning, and facilitating Board and leadership strategic working sessions. Develop five plus-year organizational strategic vision & annual business plans including integrated initiatives, measures, risks and assessment of performance levels. Work with Board of Trustees to incorporate feedback on strategic plan, performance measures, & mitigations while providing periodic updates to Board on progress.
Extensive experience in a leadership position in strategy, operational excellence, engineering, finance, or other complex areas of operations.

Proven success interacting with executive level management to determine solutions, resolve issues, and present recommendations at a senior level.
Ability to motivate and inspire large and diverse teams, manage multiple projects on a real-time basis, and identify and resolve operational and integration challenges.
Ability to lead and build cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives, while developing team members through ongoing execution of:
Recruiting, training, retention coaching and support, performance/employee engagement management, and related managerial activities.
Ability to monitor operational performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
Display a high level of initiative, demonstrate a willingness to experiment, invite and explore potential new ideas while understanding the risks to the organization.
Possess a mission orientation and ability to focus on doing what’s right for the business.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, business, or related discipline
