Job Summary

Assists the station’s leadership team with integration of Industrial Safety/Human Performance principles and practices into departmental activities.



Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Fosters an environment of continuous improvement in Human Performance, Industrial Safety and Radiological performance.
Establishes an environment which fosters a strong safety culture.
Oversees / assists in the preparation of Job Safety Analysis, fact findings, injury investigations.
Provides recommendations regarding PPE. Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills and strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Performs field observations of personnel to reinforce standards and expectations and identify gaps in performance.
Works with management to identify and address performance deficiencies.
Recommends and implements actions to improve gaps to operational excellence.
Ensures compliance with applicable Industrial Safety/Human Performance requirements, regulations, procedures, and specifications.
Develops plans and recommends actions to management team.
Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Ability to perform field observations on all departments on a routine basis
Ability to effectively work with all departments to improve station HU performance thru effective communication and teamwork
Cross discipline knowledge of multiple groups desired



Minimum education required of the position:

B.S. in Industrial Safety Education, Engineering, or a related technical degree (may be waived for demonstrated proficiency in the Industrial Safety/Human Performance area).



Minimum experience required of the position:

4 years of commercial plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or security experience in the related discipline.
Minimum 2 years management / supervisory experience or college degree.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Technical proficiency in the Industrial Safety/Human Performance area.
Broad technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
Familiar with company policies and procedures.
Proficiency with current computer-based applications.
