This is a full-time, on-site position based in Calgary for experienced Controls and DCS Engineers. DEG is hiring engineers with strong hands-on experience in Honeywell Experion DCS
,
Emerson DeltaV DCS, and/or
Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
Candidates may specialize in one platform or have experience across multiple systems. You will support MOC and Capital Projects, working from design through commissioning and startup for oil and gas facilities in Canada and the United States.
- Design, configure, and support industrial control systems and architectures
- Develop control strategies, interlocks, shutdown logic, and alarm management
- Prepare Control Narratives, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and test procedures
- Perform FAT, SAT, on-site commissioning, and startup support
- Troubleshoot control logic, system, and network issues
- Support system integration with instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and SIS
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration records
- Experion PKS configuration using Control Builder and Engineering Station
- Control strategy, alarm, and operator interface configuration
- System architecture design including servers, controllers, redundancy, and I/O
- Integration with Honeywell Safety Manager or Triconex SIS
- DeltaV Explorer and Control Studio configuration
- Control modules, equipment modules, and batch logic (ISA-88)
- Operator graphics and alarm management strategies
- Integration with PLCs, SIS, and third-party systems
- ControlLogix and CompactLogix programming using Studio 5000
- Development of shutdown logic, permissives, and interlocks
- Integration with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View or equivalent)
- Industrial networking using EtherNet/IP and related protocols
- Advanced PID tuning and loop optimization
- Alarm management and rationalization
- OPC UA, HART, Modbus TCP, and industrial communications
- FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup support
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or related Engineering discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in at least one listed control platform- Strong understanding of industrial automation and process control
- Experience in oil and gas projects preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States
