Position: The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
§ Advance Degree in Accounting preferred, CPA preferred
§ 2 years of experience with a public accounting firm preferred
§ Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
§ Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
§ Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
§ Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
§ Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally.
§ Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
§ Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
§ Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
§ Provide for a system of management cost reports
§ Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
§ Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
§ Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
§ Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Pay: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience
