NOTE: This is a 40 hour/week contract (Staff Augmentation) position expected to last through the end of 2026. Work will be based out of our Houston, TX office, and priority consideration will be given to candidates in the Houston area who have the ability to come into the office on a weekly basis (does not need to be every day). Alternatively, remote work is acceptable with a commitment of traveling to the Houston office 1 week/month. NuScale's Houston office is currently located in the Galleria Tower 1.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Master Scheduler works under the PMCoE department however reports to Director, SMR Product Development, for day to day activities, leading with the non-technical management of multiple project’s baseline including, but not limited to, project planning, schedule development and integration inside and across programs, what-if scenarios, long term resource planning, schedule status and schedule integrity. This position is specifically responsible for the integration of internal projects, vendor projects, and external client projects.
- Work with the appropriate Program/Project Manager(s) in the establishment of new programs/projects, develop an appropriate work breakdown structure, execution strategy, plan to completion, and project control hierarchy and establish this hierarchy in the Primavera scheduling tool including the appropriate schedule information, resource loading, and milestones consistent with project funding, timetable and objectives.
- Work with the Project Managers, Project Controls staff, and performing organization to create, update, and maintain the project baseline (Scope, Time and Resource Management Plan).
- Develop and manage the Integrated Master Schedule and Program Level Schedules
- Incorporate external schedules within the Integrated Master Schedule.
- Work with the PMCoE in the establishment of programs and processes that allow for best practices to be implemented for resource management across large projects
- Perform critical path analysis across programs and projects.
- Perform forensic schedule analysis to support claims.
- Develop, maintain, and report on periodic status reports related to program/project progress including critical path analysis, milestone variances, and top-level resource issues.
- Develop and publish periodic project Level 1, 2 and 3 milestone completion and status reports.
- Develop desktop instructions for cost and schedule standardized work.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planner and schedulers furthering the growth of the overall unit.
- Provide input and guidance to further grow NuScale’s implementation of the Last Planner® System.
- Provide support to project controls database development and to the overall Program Director and Program Controls Lead.

- Education: A minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Business Administration is required. Directly applicable technical working experience is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of full-time working experience in a project planning / scheduling for large projects is required. Additional required and preferred experience includes:
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with an emphasis on coordinating conflicting demands and priorities.
- Strong technical writing skills. Good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex programs/projects with multiple work phases.
- Planning, Scheduling, Last Planner, Primavera P6 (mandatory), PRISM G2 (preferred), Deltek
- Claims and Forensic analysis experience (preferred).
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR, Part 810.
