Position Summary: The Senior Contract Compliance Specialist will have full-cycle contract compliance responsibilities, from contract intake review to terms compliance to internal/external audit response, to ensure the company is meeting contractual obligations to eliminate or minimize risk. Frequent travel will be required as audits will be conducted at various company offices and other locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Review contracts and collaborate with stakeholders to determine intent of terms and conditions and identify risk exposures.
•Collaborate cross-departmentally to develop contract compliance strategies and tactics.
•Perform proactive audits to ensure the company is compliant with customer contract terms and conditions.
•Perform reactive audits for customer-initiated reviews in collaboration with internal and external partners.
•Perform substantive testing of invoice transactional data and other documents and verify compliance with contract terms.
•Prepare reports for internal management concerning scope of audit, issues found, discrepancy amounts if any exist, and recommendations for future improvements.
•Collaborate with management to enhance contract compliance by recommending preventive measures to avoid future incorrect payments and other issues.
•Participate, as needed, in the negotiation and resolution of identified discrepancies with customers.
•Maintain contracts compliance management software to store, track, monitor, and ensure adherence with contractual obligations.
•Maintain positive customer relationships.
•Oversee and mentor junior audit staff as may be needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the company.
Education and Professional Licensing or Certifications
•Required Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
•Preferred Certification: Certified Public Accountant
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Ten or more years of experience as a contract compliance specialist with audit experience.
•Construction contracts experience highly preferred.
•Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and oversee less experienced auditors.
•Effective analytical capabilities to be able to review, analyze, and interpret various types of data and draw conclusions.
•Experience with contract compliance software, such as ProCore.
•Proficient with ERP systems and financial accounting database systems.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Able to conduct effective audit interviews.
•Able to create reports to effectively convey audit results.
•Effective time management skills in a fast paced, multi-site support environment.
•Capable of working in a fast-paced, demanding, entrepreneurial work environment.
•Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
