Waste Pro USA – Pembroke Pines
The Container Delivery Driver safely operates a company truck to deliver, replace, repair, and pick up waste containers used by the public while following Decision Driving principles and company safety standards. This role plays an important part in maintaining efficient waste collection operations while providing excellent customer service to residents and businesses.
- Safely drive a container delivery truck to deliver, replace, and repair waste containers along assigned routes.
- Provide Waste Pro's Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and efficient interactions with customers and the public.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward company, customer, and municipal goals.
- Answer customer questions and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives when additional assistance is required.
- Operate vehicle compaction and lifting equipment used for container handling.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with company procedures and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
- Complete Safety Lane activities and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) daily according to company safety requirements.
- Inspect and maintain the vehicle by checking under the hood, inspecting the undercarriage, monitoring fluid levels, fueling the truck, and checking tire pressure.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulatory reports and documentation.
- Assist with additional operational tasks when needed, including supporting other routes, attending community events, or delivering bins and carts.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and state transportation requirements.
- Understanding of refuse collection policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required for the state in which the position operates.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to follow assigned routes and work schedules.
- Ability to hear and see within normal ranges (with or without correction).
- Ability to perform normal physical movements required for driving and equipment operation.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to safely operate front-end, side-load, rear-load, or roll-off refuse trucks, including right-hand driver positions on certain equipment.
- Maintain accurate written records and service reports.
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatchers, and supervisors, understand traffic signs and signals, and complete required paperwork.
