CalHomeCo Construction is looking for a high-energy, ambitious and positive Construction Project Estimator to continue to grow our building and remodeling business. We need someone that is experienced in all things vertical construction that can estimate large scale remodels, ground up and multi-family construction. Must be able to read and interpret plans, know current building code and facilitate bidding with sub-contractors. Must have the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. Must be able to estimate a project from cradle to grave with little to no supervision. Role specifics:

•

Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.

•

Utilize software for takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation.

•

Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

•

Analyze labor, material, equipment costs, and other factors affecting project budgets.

•

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms.

•

Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and budget adherence throughout the construction process.

•

Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors to facilitate effective communication regarding project requirements.

•

Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for management review.

Qualifications:

•

Experience with cloud based project management and estimating software is a must.

•

15+ years in construction, with at least 10 + years experience in a project manager role in ground up construction

•

In depth knowledge of construction building codes and safety regulations.

•

Experience working with construction budgets and cost management software.

•

At ease working with technology and utilizing it to improve results.

•

Energetic, fast-paced, with strong communication.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Position is located in San Diego, CA. Must be located in San Diego. Local experience preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
