Construction Estimator

East Coast Construction SD INC is looking for a Construction Estimator to join our project management team.

Responsibilities:

•

Prepare and estimate budget costs of materials, labour, equipment and subcontractors for construction projects based on contract bids, actions, studying architectural plans and specifications,

•

Conduct surveys of potential projects and assess feasibility to bid. Attend tender site visits and interact with clients during the tendering phase to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

•

Examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations,

•

Establish and maintain the tendering processes,

•

Cost monitoring and reporting,

•

Prepare and present budgets, reports, and project plans,

•

Resolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting information throughout the project,

•

Prepare cost, expenditure and work-done statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of the project,

•

Maintain liaison with suppliers and subcontractors,

•

Develops bids for construction projects,

•

Works closely with Architects, Engineers, Owners, Subcontractors and the Project Management team,

•

Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff,

•

Navigate and understand building codes,

•

Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction,

•

Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required,

•

Driver’s license required.

Our ideal candidate would have:

•

Strong math and analytical skills,

•

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications,

•

Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products including Excel, and Word. Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects, Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, Knowledge of the latest building codes, Close attention to detail,

•

Well organized with the competence to prioritize, execute tasks, and manage many tasks at once.

•

Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively across all levels of the organization’s diverse workforce.

•

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•

Buildertrend experience is a plus or other construction related software.

Education and Experience Requirements:

•

Certificate in general construction, building, roofing, electrician, plumbing etc.,

•

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in architecture, or a similar field or completion of a college program in civil or construction engineering technology is a plus but not required.

•

Or several years of related experience in the construction field is required,
