About This Job

Bonitz, Inc., a leading specialty trade commercial contractor and 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team in our Concord office. In this role, you will play a critical part in our project development process, evaluating bid requests, analyzing construction drawings, and preparing accurate estimates that ensure project success and profitability.

This is an onsite role at our Concord, NC location.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction:

•

Evaluate bid requests from General Contractors, Architects, and Facilities Managers

•

Analyze construction drawings and perform material takeoffs to prepare accurate and competitive bids

•

Research vendor and product specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements

•

Attend preconstruction meetings to support project planning

•

Determine safety requirements for job sites

Construction Support:

•

Partner with Project Managers to manage change orders efficiently

•

Maintain vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and timely product availability

•

Provide urgent assistance with change orders throughout projects

Team Collaboration:

•

Work with Directors to refine proposals and deliver winning bids

•

Build strong partnerships with General Contractors to ensure project alignment

•

Support Project Consultants, Managers, and Installation Crews with essential project information

Required Qualifications

•

2-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating

•

Strong knowledge of material takeoffs and quantity surveying

•

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

•

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills

•

Excellent time management and organizational abilities

•

Strong written and verbal communication skills

•

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

•

Willingness to be onsite as needed (this is an in-person position)

Preferred Qualifications

•

Experience with estimating software such as Measure Square, Bluebeam, or ProEst

•

Knowledge of commercial construction products and finishes

•

Background in flooring, ceiling, or wall systems estimation

•

Experience working with CAD or similar design software
