Summary
As a Construction Foreman and Carpenter at Commonwealth Building Inc., you will work under the direction of the Operations Manager, overseeing small Special projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while fostering strong relationships with team members and partners. You will also work in the field as part of the CBI labor team, working together to complete our Retail space fit-outs and construction projects.
Responsibilities
•As a Foreman, you will oversee subcontractors and maintain project schedule deadlines.
•Coordinate activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects.
•Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues.
•Work in a team situation or in an independent capacity as a carpenter.
•Enforce safety regulations and protocols on the job site.
•Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or concerns.
•Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and specifications.
•Manage job site clean-up and housekeeping.
•Maintain open communication with the subcontractors and other stakeholders.
•Represent the company and its values on the job site.
•Communicate with in-house management to complete tasks.
Requirements
•Prior experience in commercial construction is required.
•Prior experience in carpentry and painting is required.
•You must have most of your basic carpentry tools.
•Mid-to-upper-level experience with metal studs and drywall
•Mid-to-upper-level experience in the installation of commercial doors, frames and hardware
•Mid-to-upper-level experience in the installation of commercial bathroom accessories
•Strong communication and organizational skills.
•The ability to read plans and specifications.
•Knowledge of construction practices and safety regulations.
•Ability to travel to job sites in New England. Some overnight travel may be required.
•Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
