Compressor Operator

The Compression Mechanic oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of gas compression equipment and related systems, supporting production and maintenance activities in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of compressors and all associated equipment

- Monitor compressor performance and respond to operational issues

- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify root causes to prevent future issues

- Coordinate with compressor rental and service companies as needed

- Work closely with production and maintenance foremen to support operational needs

- Coordinate compressor adjustments in support of gas lift systems

- Assist with planning and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules

- Support EH&S initiatives and ensure compliance with air emissions and environmental requirements

- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and findings

- Prior experience working with oil and gas compression equipment

- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

- Knowledge of compressor operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring

- Experience coordinating with third-party service or rental providers

- Familiarity with gas lift systems and production operations

- Understanding of environmental compliance and air emissions requirements

- Ability to work independently in a field environment

- Willingness and ability to work a 10/4 schedule in Pecos, TX

- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site safety requirements

This role is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of compression equipment and associated systems. The Compression Mechanic will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure reliable compressor performance, safe operation, and regulatory compliance
