About This Job

Summary Of Position

Reporting directly to Corporate Counsel, the Compliance Manager will serve as a key liaison between Field Operations, Product Development, Product Sales, Supply Chain, Safety, Legal, and external regulatory bodies, ensuring ongoing compliance, risk mitigation, and operational integrity. This position is responsible for evaluating and implementing changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. The Compliance Manager delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, environmental protection laws, licensing boards, etc.). Proactively monitor and track state-by-state regulatory requirements. Stay informed of changing regulations and industry best practices. Provide guidance and direction for responding to regulatory challenges.
Draft, implement, and maintain company-wide policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
Develop and deliver compliance training programs for field staff and back-office support, with a focus on pesticide applicator licensing, dig safe laws, and chemical handling.
Compile and prepare materials for submission to regulatory agencies in the U.S. and abroad.
Maintain State registrations for existing products. Provide guidance and review of promotional material and other related product documentation.
Support Supply Chain by advising on shipping descriptions, certificates of origin, and tariff classifications for all pesticide and non-pesticide products as required. Obtain customs bonds and renew special permits when necessary.
Coordinate and document internal regulatory processes, such as internal audits, inspections, license renewals, or registrations.
Oversee in depth pesticide sales and usage reporting in various states.
Investigate and respond to regulatory inquiries, audits, violations, and citations.
Advise on and coordinate hazardous materials and waste management, including transportation, spills, releases, and disposal. Respond to complaints and incidents from customers and Field Operations.
Coordinate and manage all environmental sustainability reporting.
Reporting of EPA FIFRA 6(a)(2) Adverse Effects, Export of Unregistered Pesticides, and responding to regulatory agency data-call-ins and interim registration review decisions.
Support external regulatory consulting services and advocacy activities with governmental and non-governmental organizations. Maintain relationships with key regulatory agency officials and standards setting and industry consortium groups.
Monitor competitor’s submissions to EPA and new product registrations.
Monitor issues that may impact the active ingredients used in OUS products, including EPA reviews.
Miscellaneous legal research.
Contribute to other related projects and plans, not specifically noted, necessary to attain business objectives of Osmose Utilities Services, Inc.
Ability to travel up to 10% as required.


Qualifications

BS or BA degree, or equivalent 5 or more years of successful business experience.
Excellent networking skills with demonstrated experience representing an organization outwardly, naturally collaborative with a proven ability to partner and influence others at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization skills and ability to digest large, complex volumes of information and summarize for dissemination.
Strong technical expertise and business acumen.
Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and analyze state and federal statutes and other governmental regulations. Ability to draft correspondence, reports and application forms.
Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with EPA, PMRA, APVMA and other international regulatory bodies.
Solid understanding of EPA hazardous material regulations, OSHA standards, utility treatment practices, and environmental reporting requirements.
