The compensation analyst assists in the management of Berkshire Hathaway Energy companies' compensation programs, annual incentives, and other recognition programs. This role oversees the compensation administration for multiple company platforms, maintains systems supporting compensation programs, compiles compensation reports, manages the job description database and necessary updates, manages the annual salary survey submissions for Berkshire Hathaway Energy affiliate companies, reviews salary recommendations and conducts job reviews and group reorganizations.
Assist managers and business unit human resources managers in developing and updating job descriptions and provides consultation for reorganizations. This includes researching market data to determine a recommendation for job grade and FLSA classification for positions. (20%)
Collaborates with information technology to administer systems, databases, and other technology used by the compensation team. This includes data loads, system enhancements and testing. (20%)
Supports the annual pay review and associated board reporting. Manages compensation planning system and supports managers and internal HR users. Develop and update formal reports for the BHE compensation committee (20%)
Supports nonqualified benefit plan administration and supports BHE executive compensation programs. (15%)
Administer MarketPay salary survey program and participate in annual and ad hoc salary surveys. Conduct annual survey to evaluate and make recommendations for salary structure movement and intern pay rates. (10%)
Ensure compensation policies and programs comply with regulations and requirements and support ongoing compliance reporting and pay equity review. (10%)
Designs and prepares ad hoc compensation reports for managers, human resources staff, and executive management as requested. (5%)
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, human resource management, related field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
One to three years of compensation experience or three or more years of related experience.
Experience using human resource information systems for data extraction and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work with large data sets and extract information from human resources information systems.
Prior experience with Oracle Fusion or other human capital management system preferred.
High attention to detail and a strong customer focus.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
