JOB SUMMARY
The Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the compensation function for the entire company. The Compensation Manager will plan, develop, and implement new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with Dolese’s goals and competitive practices. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Manage the development, implementation, and administration of the company’s compensation philosophy, plans, and programs
•Manage the annual compensation pay planning cycle, including merit increases and bonuses
•Monitor trends in the market to understand opportunities; collaborate with stakeholders to explore, identify, and implement change as needed to stay competitive and meet business needs
•Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal employment and labor laws related to compensation practices
•Develop processes for creating, reviewing, and updating job descriptions to ensure we have accurate information for compliance and relevant market data
•Conduct job evaluations and recommend appropriate compensation mixes in line with the company's pay philosophy
•Partner with our HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to identify compensation strategies for new roles
•Oversee survey participation, from determining which surveys to participate in, to preparation, submission, and analysis of survey results
•Oversee the review and selection of third-party vendors and the implementation and maintenance of compensation management systems, including Human Capital Management (HCM) compensation specific configurations and testing
•Collaborate with HRIS and payroll to ensure data accuracy and system integrity
•Educate and advise leaders on company’s compensation philosophy, compensation policies and procedures, and use of manager HCM applications to build and execute base pay changes
•Develop communications for employees and leaders specific to compensation plans and programs
•Manage our employee-facing compensation materials, building transparency and understanding of our compensation practices
•Represent the company in industry association committees
•Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field required
•At least 8 years of human resources experience with increased levels of responsibility required
•At least 6 years of broad-based compensation experience, including base pay, incentive plans, and variable pay components required
•Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively required
•Experience using HR information systems required; preferably Workday
•PHR, SHRM-CP, or CCP designation preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills with the ability to create complex reports and spreadsheets for analyzing compensation data, ensuring equitable and competitive employee compensation
•Meticulous attention to detail and a focus on high accuracy for managing and coordinating compensation calculations, data analysis, and reporting
•Strong knowledge of compensation-related regulations and laws to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements
•Deep understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures in the compensation field including, but not limited to, benchmarking and compensation surveys
•Deep understanding of job evaluation and job classification processes
•Must be a strategic thinker, self-motivated, and have excellent problem solving and project management skills
•Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within the organization
•Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
•Effective verbal and written communication skills, including writing and presentations
•Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships
•Ability to manage multiple projects while overseeing the day-to-day duties of a team
•Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
•Proficiency in using HR information systems, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software tools for data analysis and presentation
•Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Lift, push, or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight frequently
•Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing/sitting/walking
•Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
•Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and see
