What We Are Looking For
The Commodity Pricing Manager will lead the centralized pricing strategy for wire, conduit, and related commodities. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining consistent pricing policies, ensuring margin control, and leveraging supplier relationships to maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and executive leadership to align pricing with market dynamics and company objectives.
- Develop and execute centralized pricing strategies for wire, conduit, and other key commodities
- Analyze market trends, supplier costs, and competitive benchmarks to inform pricing decisions
- Set and communicate clear pricing guidelines to sales teams and stakeholders
- Design and maintain a feedback loop for continuous pricing improvement
- Monitor pricing effectiveness and adjust as needed to achieve margin and volume targets
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all commodity pricing inquiries and escalations
- Collaborate with procurement to leverage supplier terms and negotiate favorable pricing
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Prepare and deliver regular pricing performance reports to senior management
- Serve as the designated resource for quoting all large Bills of Material (BOMs) involving commodity items
- Coordinate with the inside sales team to ensure all large commodity BOM quotes are routed through and managed by this role
- Standardize the quoting process for large projects to ensure pricing consistency and margin optimization
- Provide timely and accurate quotes to the sales team, reducing variability and improving customer experience
- Educate and support inside sales staff in the transition to this centralized quoting model
- 5–10 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, procurement, or sales within distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry
- Experience working with commodity-based products such as wire, conduit, steel, copper, or similar materials strongly preferred
- Proven ability to develop and manage pricing strategies that drive margin improvement and support sales growth
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market trends, cost data, and competitive benchmarks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP and CRM systems required
- Experience quoting large projects or Bills of Material (BOMs) with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and profitability
- Strong understanding of pricing structures, cost drivers, and supplier relationships
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across sales, procurement, and leadership teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
