We are searching for a Commissioning Project Manager (PV) on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2)

Location: Remote: US Travel and stay at project locations for duration of Cx. Travel up to 40%. Other work is remote in supporting teams in remote SCADA monitoring and Commissioning portfolio management. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2)

The primary roles are to oversee the subcontractors and OEMs delivery, installation, quality, plant testing, performance testing, ISO/GIA/PPA Testing and startup of Utility Solar Powerplants. To act as the Owner’s representative to oversee aspects of the system including site work, installation, status reporting, safety, quality control, startup, commissioning, testing and project close out (note the Owner will contract a turnkey EPC, this role will oversee the EPC and OEMs on the Owner's behalf).

Employees in this role manage and report on construction turnover, pre-energization, commissioning, and performance testing work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.

Job Responsibilities:

•

Participates in safety program and audits

•

Performs detailed system quality control inspections for completeness of installation vs. install manuals, engineering specifications and drawings and maintain detailed punch-list

•

Performs system walkdowns for mechanical complete prior to turnover or energization

•

Creation of and management of energization plans

•

Oversee the EPC and OEM commissioning procedures, status, and compliance

•

Assist in troubleshooting commissioning anomalies as the primary SME owner’s representative

•

Preparation and review of project close out and testing documents

•

Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly on progress, indicators, and recovery plans to upper management

•

Interfaces with project's designated management committees or third parties, and acts as lead Company representative of project activities

•

Substation testing third party management

•

Substation energization

•

ISO/GIA/PPA commissioning process management

•

Review all Purchase Power Agreement and Interconnect Agreements to develop guidelines for performance testing

•

Interface with Engineering, Commissioning, and Business Management personnel to obtain alignment on testing requirements

•

Develop a complete testing plan for assigned projects to ensure all deliverables across all relevant contractual documentation is met.

•

Schedule and lead alignment meetings leading up to, and during performance testing periods, to ensure all required support parties are aligned and the test is executed in an organized manner.

•

Performs otherjob-related duties as assigned

•

Overall responsibility for test administration, data analysis and final reporting.

Required Skill Sets:

•

Must have a thorough understanding of Utility Scale Solar projects

•

Management of substation testing and startup

•

Interconnect coordination for commissioning activities (Transmission Operators, PPA, ISO)

•

Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting is preferred

•

Understanding of Inverters, Trackers, Weather stations, SCADA, transformers, combiners

•

Good communication skills and highly organized

•

Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams

•

Hiring of development of commissioning managers

•

Thorough understanding of DC systems(0-2,000Vdc) and AC systems (480V- 34.5kV)

•

Familiarity to troubleshoot electronic equipment (protection relays, inverters, RTU’s etc.).

•

Experience with control and SCADA system sand troubleshooting

•

Computer skills MS word, Excel and MS PowerPoint

•

Communication to third parties and reporting to executives

•

Schedule and planning understanding

•

Electrical Code, means and methods

Preferred Background:

•

Engineering or professional electrical career in power systems commissioning with minimum5 years in commissioning Solar or Energy Storage.

•

A background with Solar and SCADA is preferred.
