Description
Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis, LLC. (MD&A), a world-class supplier of power generation repairs, services, and parts is seeking a qualified professional with commercial experience in the Power Generation and Industrial markets. The MD&A IGT Division has an immediate opening for a Commercial Proposal Manager. MD&A offers an excellent full range of benefits packages, including relocation assistance for this role.
The incumbent will be responsible for quoting and sales of Industrial Gas Turbines, including but not limited to preparing proposals, negotiating, and executing contracts through direct customer interaction via email, by phone, and in person.
Duties & Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare quotations and proposals for a variety of parts and labor using Kinetic ERP system data, including pricing, delivery, and part applicability.
- Generate cost sheet estimates for all proposals with emphasis on unique requirements and review expected costs with applicable department owners.
- Ensure all quotes are understood from scheduling and technical perspectives by collaborating across functional departments: engineering, production, and sourcing teams, ensuring a timely and accurate delivery of quotations and orders.
- Represent the Commercial organization during interdepartmental meetings, reviews, and discussions
- Confirm the shop capacity for any job created; Review purchase order requirements aligned with proposal conditions and send order acknowledgements to the customer.
- Monitor and analyze market and competitive data to establish market-level pricing. Update as needed, including emergent in-shop work.
- Responsible for ensuring final pricing is sent to the customer before work is started or components are shipped.
- Track and monitor job progression from initial inspection to final report issuance.
- Provide regular support, communication, and follow-ups regarding job progression, scope and cost changes, delivery status and other pertinent information as needed between shop and customer.
- Foster and maintain relationships with key customer contacts, in person, via phone and email.
- Develop and provide documented reporting on the status of potential work (quotes, dollars, opportunities, backlog).
- Assist in logistics and shipping arrangements as needed to support domestic (and potentially international) shipments tied to customer and/or operational needs.
- Be available for after-hours and weekend support of customer emergencies.

- Position is office-based, with a travel requirement based on customer and operational needs.- BS degree in engineering or related technical field, or 10+ years of work experience in a technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in power generation or industrial industry involving turbine product service or parts. Experience may be related to turbine component sales, field service, manufacturing, or design.
- 5+ years of commercial experience, including developing customer relationships and customer service.- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication (English), Spanish fluency is desirable but not required.
- Must be keen on all aspects of communication, follow-ups, and strategic negotiating skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Must be able to interpret, read, and understand drawings, service contracts, transaction requirements, and basic contractual terms and conditions.
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Infor CRM, Kinetic ERP
