The incumbent is responsible for managing sales and marketing relationships of Asahi Refining to ensure maximum profitability from existing contracts and for developing opportunities that continue the growth of Asahi Refining. The incumbent will work with a variety companies and market institutions to develop and maintain business. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all materials received are suited to the company’s expertise and capabilities. The incumbent will work closely with the Commercial team at all Asahi Refining North America locations, providing support for all our refining revenue streams and communicating with current & prospective clients as well as various companies and market institutions to assist in the development of business.
Negotiating, drafting, and administering short, medium, and long-term refining and sales agreements with Asahi clients. Once agreements are finalized, ensure that the that commercial team is advised and that the administration of the agreements is correctly done.
Regularly review all existing arrangements to ensure that they reflect current terms and conditions, and to ensure that all terms and conditions agreed meet the risk requirements of the company; maintain expiry dates on all contracts and quotes and advising management of upcoming renewals on a regular basis.
Proactively address and resolve issues arising during sale execution or contract performance by liaising with clients and internal departments to drive timely resolution. Provide the necessary information, including commercial plans, models and annual revenue budget plans and forecasts, to the Executive Management Team for the development and strategic planning.
Maintains professional technical knowledge by participating in professional associations, attending workshops, and reviewing professional publications.
Identify, mentor and develop key (Lead) staff member(s) for enhanced performance, future increased responsibility, and possibly future supervisory responsibilities.
Communicate with production and accounting to ensure the material is handled correctly and in a timely fashion and immediately identify and report on unusual situations that may occur. The incumbent recommends corrective action if necessary and implements such action upon the approval of Management.
Acts as liaison between Asahi and its clients to ensure a high degree of service through immediate communication of information.
The incumbent will work closely with the Sales team, Operations, and the Client Specialist Group as well as interacting regularly with clients.
This position enforces the Company’s anti-money laundering policy and gold procurement policy to ensure protection of company’s assets and employees. The position provides information and in consultation with the Global Head of Sales to make decisions.
Be aware of and follow the plant’s environmental policy and environmental management system.

· 4-5 years of sales experience with 2-3 years of experience in the refining, smelting or mining industry is preferred
· Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
· Possess a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
· Strong mathematical aptitude and numeracy skills; capable of creating and maintaining spreadsheets; performing calculations related to client metal and metal accounts; tracking and compiling data; and an ability to convert various units of measure accurately.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Advanced skills in Word and Excel.
· Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and keep excellent records.
