Job Summary:
The Commercial Construction Manager is accountable for overseeing and managing the daily operations of construction projects. This leadership role is vital in ensuring that all aspects of construction are executed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. The Construction Manager works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients while supervising on-site operations and coordinating teams across various roles.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Oversee job sites for contractor success.
• Responsible for organization of end -to-end Installations to ensure readiness and completion.
• Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules.
• Liaison between clients, departments and field contractors.
• Oversee quality control in field.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage a diverse team of workers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure smooth coordination between different trades, team members, and project roles.
• Read, understand, and execute construction drawings, blueprints, and plans to ensure that work is completed according to specifications and project requirements.
• Implement and maintain quality building practices, ensuring all work meets the company’s high standards. Regularly inspect on-site work to identify quality issues or discrepancies.
• Ensure all activities on the construction site comply with legal, safety, and regulatory requirements. Stay up-to-date on relevant building codes, zoning laws, and other legal aspects of construction.
• Enforce all safety protocols on-site, ensuring that workers follow OSHA standards and company safety practices. Hold regular safety meetings to promote awareness and prevent accidents.
• Manage and communicate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that work is completed on time, meets quality standards, and remains within budget.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of site activities, inspections, safety compliance, and work progress. Provide regular updates to management regarding project status, issues, and successes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers, ensuring clear communication and swift resolution of any concerns.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff and field personnel, fostering a team-oriented, high-performance culture.
• Develop a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of assigned projects.
• Collaborate with other staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
• Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
• Work in partnership with architects, engineers, attorneys, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
• Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to the terms of agreement.
• Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
• Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies in a timely and specific manner.
• Performs daily recon of job sites and coordinates with CSR team to ensure on time material order and installation to meet builder schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication (written & verbal) skills.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, building practices, methods and standards.
• Ability to manage and coordinate diverse teams and contractors.
• Extremely detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality.
• Ability to read, understand, and execute construction blueprints, drawings, and plans.
• Strong understanding of legal requirements and safety regulations relating to construction sites.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to act quickly and efficiently.
• Proven track-record for delivering results under tight deadlines and high-stress conditions.
• Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office.
Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or equivalent are a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
