This is a full-time on-site role located in Mentor, OH. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring accuracy and precision in machining processes, and performing routine maintenance on machinery. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to meet production goals and adhere to quality standards. Monitoring and adjusting machines during operation to produce high-quality components is also a key responsibility of this position.
- Set up CNC machines for production, including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and program verification
- Prepare machines for operation through calibration, cleaning, and safety checks
- Load raw materials or parts and monitor production cycles
- Adjust machine settings such as speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain part quality
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators
- Identify, correct, and report machining or part discrepancies
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality issues during production
- Operate multiple CNC machines as production demands require
- Verify parts meet blueprint specifications and tolerance requirements
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive machine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all shop safety and quality procedures
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on CNC set-up and operating experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators
- Understanding of CNC offsets, tooling, and basic G-code concepts
- Experience performing in-process inspection
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and math skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Completion of a technical or trade program in machining
- Experience with high-speed CNC equipment
- Experience maintaining tight tolerances and repeatable part quality
