Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Group Leader to oversee and guide our production team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing processes and demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities. This role is crucial in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Workflow Management
•Coordinate daily activities for a team of machinists and operators within the department.
•Assign jobs based on production priorities, equipment availability, and employee skill levels.
•Ensure machines are running efficiently and that setups are completed on time.
•Monitor production schedules and assist in adjusting work assignments as needed.
2. Team Support & Leadership
•Act as the first point of contact for operators with questions or issues during the shift.
•Train new employees and assist with cross-training of existing team members.
•Provide day-to-day guidance and support while escalating personnel issues to supervision.
•Foster a positive team environment and reinforce accountability.
3. Quality & Process Adherence
•Ensure that team members follow proper procedures, including prints, in process inspection, and ISO quality standards.
•Conduct or oversee in-process inspections to confirm parts meet specifications.
•Report scrap, rework, and nonconforming parts; support efforts to identify root causes.
•Work with Quality and Engineering staff to resolve technical or process-related issues.
4. Equipment, Materials, and Tools
•Ensure machines are maintained and cleaned per schedule.
•Verify that jobs have the correct tooling, fixtures, and raw materials before starting.
•Report equipment issues or downtime to maintenance or management promptly.
•Monitor usage of shop supplies and request restocking as necessary.
5. Safety & Compliance
•Enforce all safety protocols, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures.
•Identify and report unsafe behaviors, conditions, or near-miss incidents.
•Support safety audits and promote a clean, organized work environment.
6. Reporting & Communication
•Provide daily updates to production manager regarding job progress, issues, and staffing needs.
•Communicate shift changeover details to ensure continuity of operations.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
