•GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
CNC Mill Operator operates CNC (computer numerically controlled) lathe machines to cut metal and plastic parts and monitor machines for problems. In addition to the production of lathe parts, the operator is also responsible for the production of fasteners and miscellaneous hardware. The operator will be trained on the job and must be a driven and hands on mechanically inclined individual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
•Loads and starts-up machines.
•Operates one or more machines to produce parts as directed.
•Ability to work from layout sheets.
•Reads blueprints, drawings, and job orders for information such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of work pieces.
•Monitors parts from production- clean and deburrs parts.
•Verifies conformance of production parts to specifications using various measuring instruments.
•Performs work in accordance with International Standards for this position.
•Understands company Operational Excellence directive and is responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.
•Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
•Calculate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment.
•Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
•Maintain production or processing equipment.
•Prepare materials for processing or production.
•Replace worn equipment components.
•Measure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators.
•Sort recyclable materials.
•Operate cutting equipment.
•Monitor lubrication of equipment or workpieces.
•Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:
· Experience with measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers desirable
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings desirable
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Have good interpersonal and language skills are required in interacting with team members
· Ability to produce quality product without sacrificing defined throughput expectation
· Able to stand for long periods of time.
· Able to communicate successfully with others.
· Work independently in a team environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Manufacturing Technology courses a plus.
· CNC or Screw machine, Mills, Lathes, Automated Drill Presses experience in machine shop desirable
· Mechanically inclined.
· Basic computer skills.
