Purpose of Role: The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the CNC horizontal boring mill, special purpose, machining center to fabricate high speed precision repair work and manufacturing components with tight tolerances. They will be machining mild steel and exotic materials.

- Focus Area: Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Focus Area: Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
- Focus Area: Calculates and sets controls program machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media (master cam)
- Focus Area: Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Journeyman Machinist Provincial Trade Certification &/or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
- Experience operating and programming horizontal CNC boring mill
- Master cam training would be an asset
