Job Summary
NAES is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of civil and structural elements for large-scale industrial or energy-related projects. This role will be responsible for providing technical engineering support across site development, foundations, drainage, grading, and civil infrastructure while coordinating closely with project management, construction teams, and third-party engineering firms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, field-aware, and capable of supporting projects from early design through construction and turnover.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support civil engineering design activities including site layout, grading, drainage, foundations, and underground utilities
- Review and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents for constructability and compliance
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to support project execution
- Provide field support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing field conditions, and supporting issue resolution
- Assist with contractor coordination, design reviews, and technical evaluations
- Ensure civil work complies with applicable codes, standards, permits, and regulatory requirements
- Support project documentation, change management, and progress reporting as required
- Working knowledge of civil engineering principles related to industrial or energy infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with earthwork, foundations, concrete, drainage systems, and underground utilities
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Proficiency with standard engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar preferred)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an integrated project team
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of civil engineering experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, or energy-related projects- Field experience supporting construction activities strongly preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
