Position Overview
We are seeking a Civil Engineer I with strong experience in site development, grading, stormwater design, and structural design for renewable energy and land development projects. This position requires proficiency in Civil 3D, PVCase, and structural design software, along with the ability to prepare, review, and manage design deliverables in coordination with other engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of structural elements such as foundations, concrete pads, and support structures commonly used in solar farm and energy-related infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare site development plans, grading plans, drainage maps, erosion control, and access road designs.
- Create and maintain Civil 3D drawings including site plans, landscape layouts, plans and profiles, cross sections, general notes, and detail drawings.
- Perform earthwork analysis including cut/fill volume calculations.
- Develop model space layouts, surface modeling, and alignments based on project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Support the development of CAD and engineering SOPs.
- Contribute to refining workflows to improve project efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain organized design documentation and manage project files.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers to meet project deadlines.
- Participate in internal design reviews and client meetings.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience including internship experience in civil site design and plan creation.- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, feature lines, surface modeling, and volume calculations.
- Strong foundation in stormwater, drainage, and access road design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Desire to obtain PE licensure or active EIT certification.
- Experience with solar farm or energy infrastructure projects preferred
- Familiarity with GIS software preferred
- Knowledge of geotechnical and soil-structure interaction principles preferred
- This role has a remote work arrangement anywhere in the continental US.
