The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President. The COO provides strategic and operational leadership across divisions to ensure efficiency, financial performance, and service excellence. This role is responsible for executing long-term growth initiatives, optimizing daily operations, and fostering a high-performance culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the President and executive team to set and execute long-term plans, align divisional strategies with corporate goals, and drive innovation.
- Operational Oversight: Lead and develop managers across business units, including Energy Wholesale, Sales, Bulk Plants, Carriers, and Tank & Trailer; manage price risk; ensure safety, regulatory, and quality compliance.
- Financial Management: Direct operational and financial activities; establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI)’s for efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction; ensure accountability for results.
- Growth & Customer Engagement: Collaborate with sales and leadership to expand markets, strengthen customer and vendor relationships, and enhance service delivery.
- People & Culture: Coach and develop operational leaders; promote teamwork, integrity, and collaboration; champion a results-driven, safety-first culture.
- Collaboration & Communication: Maintain transparent communication with the President and executive team; ensure alignment and effective information flow across the organization.
- Special Initiatives: Lead priority projects and serve as a role model of company values and leadership standards.
- Safety: Leads safety and workers’ compensation cost reduction incentives for the assigned region, focusing on safety as a primary concern to ensure safe working practices in all areas of operations.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in business preferred.- 10+ years of progressive leadership in operations, logistics, or related industries; wholesale fuel, transportation, or distribution experience preferred.
- Proven record of managing multi-location operations and achieving financial and growth objectives preferred.
- Expertise in strategic planning, operational risk management, and financial oversight preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels preferred.
- Strong customer and vendor relationship management experience preferred.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English required.
- Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities and work with tight deadlines while exercising attention to detail required.
- Computer experience preferred.
