Job Title: Chief Operations Manager – Pink Quartzite Surface Mining

Position Summary:
The Chief Operations Manager will oversee all daily quarry operations, including production planning, equipment maintenance, personnel management, and site development. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, deep mechanical and process knowledge, and the ability to train and mentor employees across multiple operational areas.
- Direct and coordinate daily surface mining, crushing, screening, and loadout operations.
- Develop and implement efficient production schedules aligned with material demand and quality standards.
- Oversee equipment performance, maintenance programs, and repair planning for crushers, conveyors, wash plants, and mobile equipment.
- Train employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, material handling, and job-specific responsibilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and management on quarry design, pit progression, and plant layout improvements.
- Monitor compliance with MSHA, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure quality control standards are met for all products leaving the plant.
- Manage and mentor crew leads, operators, and maintenance staff.
- Oversee site logistics, including inventory management, production reporting, and cost tracking.
- Identify process improvements to reduce downtime and increase output.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in aggregate or surface mining operations, including supervisory or management roles.
- Strong mechanical background with hands-on knowledge of crusher maintenance and plant troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to lead and train a diverse workforce.
- Experience with site design, mine planning, or pit development preferred.
- Working knowledge of MSHA compliance, environmental requirements, and quarry safety systems.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Excel, Word, email).
- CDL or heavy equipment operating experience is a plus.
