- Assists shop team with any required tasks.
- Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas
- Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and help in other activities
- Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials
- Drive specialized trucks (float/low-bed) to move heavy equipment, vehicles, or materials.
- Properly load, balance, secure (tarping), and unload cargo using chains, binders, and straps.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle and equipment checks (tires, brakes, lights).
- Adhere to all provincial/national transport regulations, including logbooks and potential permits.
- Coordinate with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding schedules and issues.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical concerns.
- Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment
- Perform other activities, as directed
- Ensures organization and cleanliness of shop and yard.
- Follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Tasks are not limited to the above and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
