FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the backup Power Generation Industry. We design and build back up power packages (to include tanks and enclosures) for large and small health, industrial, and technology-oriented businesses that cannot have a power lapse at any time.
Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for procuring materials, goods, and services for the production floor to ensure smooth and cost-efficient operations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in vendor management, cost negotiation, inventory management, and ensuring that all materials meet the facility's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Source and purchase raw materials, components, tools, and services needed for the manufacturing process. Ensure materials are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and at the best possible cost.
•Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts, terms, and prices. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery time, and service levels.
•Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock. Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
•Create and process purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, and manage discrepancies in shipments. Ensure timely payment processing for suppliers and adherence to contractual terms.
•Work closely with quality control to ensure all procured materials meet required specifications and standards. Investigate and resolve quality issues related to suppliers.
•Identify opportunities for cost savings in procurement activities while maintaining product quality and production timelines. Analyze market trends and forecast pricing for materials and goods.
•Supplier Performance Evaluation:
•Regularly assess supplier performance through metrics like on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Address any issues or concerns with suppliers
•Compliance and Documentation:
•Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations. Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and other relevant paperwork.
•Work closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure procurement needs align with production schedules and inventory levels.
•Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives to senior management.
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
•Relevant certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) are a plus.
Experience:
•3+ years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software (E2 JobBoss, Epicor, or similar) is preferred.
Skills:
•Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
•Ability to analyze data and identify trends in pricing and supply chain performance.
•Knowledge of materials and supply chain management.
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
