This role is primarily responsible for identifying leads and landing new accounts with suppliers and customers directly to purchase scrap metal materials. The position is critically important at Albert Bros., Inc because they fuel our growth trajectory and build new long-term relationships that source our facility with the materials our customers need to be recycled and repurposed. As a key liaison, this role will represent ABI in delivering mutual value for all parties to succeed.
· Identify new contacts, leads, and activate new suppliers each month.
· Build out prospective plan of opportunities for new accounts and projects coming available to the market and coordinate with team on winning accounts and buying strategies.
· Proficient in gathering and analyzing data to mine existing trends of potential suppliers and new customers in the dedicated regions.
· Establish relationship with new accounts and properly transition to relationship management representative until the account is running smoothly.
· Key liaison to represent Albert Bros. in negotiating contracts, responding to bid requests, and developing buying agreements with larger complex accounts with desiring pricing and margin parameters.
· Knowledgeable of nuances of buying structure to provide creative solutions that offer unique value to customer on ways to make it easier and more value-add to work with ABI as their scrap metal recycler.
· Provide expertise on creative solutions to new potential customers on ways to optimize value for all parties to help earn our trust and win their commitment to ABI.
· Own developing and delivering stories about ABI that promote our values, our purpose and mission, and examples of how we follow through on our commitments and value long-term relationships.
· Showcase creative solutions to share how easy it is to work with ABI and how we can create more value in the materials they provide and their ongoing business.
· Self-starter seeking out new avenues and methods to achieve monthly targets as a team, including conducting extensive research on the best potential and reliable suppliers to purchase from.
· Work with sales management to monitor the organization’s inventory levels to understand purchasing needs and schedule orders.
· Assess, manage, and mitigate risks along with effectively problem solve issues that arise to proper resolution for all parties.
· Attend industry trade shows or other community events to learn about and stay current on trends, to meet suppliers and identify new leads.
· Contributes as an active member of the team identifying and participating in continuous improvement activities, fostering safety practices as a priority for each other, supporting the team mission, and living out Company values where everyone can succeed together.
Position Qualifications (Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities):
o Prior Sales and Marketing experience in metal manufacturing, scrap recycling, steel services, aerospace or similar service-oriented manufacturing environment with track record of success.
o Strong knowledge of market with ability to scope out and plan activities with high integrity to aggressively win new accounts.
o Effective presenter and communicator that can inspire others to connect with the ABI story and “big picture” while being able to show value with clients about how these matters to them and creates mutual value for all parties.
o Familiar with sourcing, possess business sense, and have decision-making skills that can understand and position value with customers in alignment with pricing parameters and budgets.
o Exhibits persistence and takes initiative with self-directed action; proactive – acts without being told what to do; acts like a leader; self-disciplined.
o Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Excel, Teams, Powerpoint and ability to learn industry specific software and CRM.
o Capable of producing consistent quote activity with successful close ratio.
