Department: MSS, Global Sales Strategy & Business Development
Location: Walnut Creek, CA or Kitchener, Ontario (Hybrid) or Remote - Dallas, Texas, or West Coast USA, or Canada.
Canadian Solar is seeking a Business Strategy Analyst to join the Sales Strategy and Business Development Team.
This individual will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, evaluating new product and market opportunities, developing financial models, and partnering cross-functionally to drive business performance. The Business Analyst will operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, supporting executive-level decision-making through rigorous analysis and clear, structured communication.
- Develop detailed financial models to evaluate new product launches, growth initiatives, and strategic investments.
- Build and manage P&L analyses, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to track existing businesses and programs.
- Prepare comprehensive business cases and investor-ready business plans for internal management and external investors.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarking.
- Translate complex data into clear insights and executive-level presentations.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to drive data-backed decisions.
- Support strategic planning processes, including long-range planning and quarterly reviews.
- Identify operational efficiencies and revenue optimization opportunities.
- Present findings and recommendations directly to senior leadership.
- Independently manage projects from concept through execution.
- MBA from a top-tier program a plus.
- Advanced financial modeling skills (3-statement models, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis).
- Strong experience working with and managing P&Ls.
- Demonstrated ability to write structured, data-driven business plans.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
- High degree of autonomy, ownership mindset, and self-motivation.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and financial planning tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 3–4 years of experience at a leading consulting firm or within investment banking a plus.
- Second language, Chinese or Spanish a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.The pay range for this position is $120,000 – $145,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
