The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying, developing, and nurturing relationships within the Architectural and Design (A&D) community. The BDM will be instrumental in generating qualified opportunities, getting MetroWall products specified, and ensuring a strong project pipeline. This role requires a proactive, relationship-driven approach, with an emphasis on collaboration, strategic outreach, and in-depth market understanding.
1. Build and Nurture Relationships within the A&D Community
1.1. Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, interior designers, specifiers, and other project influencers.
1.2. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand visibility and strengthen connections within the A&D community.
1.3. Organize and lead product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and office visits to educate design professionals about MetroWall's offerings.
1.4. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing tailored solutions and staying informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.
2.1. Conduct market research to identify upcoming projects and target potential clients within the NYC market.
2.2. Proactively engage with General Contractors, Landlords, Brokers, Tenants, Owner Representatives, and Construction Management firms to uncover new project opportunities.
2.3. Qualify leads by assessing project viability, stakeholder involvement, and alignment with MetroWall’s solutions. Confirm budget alignment, project and buyout schedule, and key deliverables for the project.
2.4. Maintain a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape to position MetroWall effectively.
2.5. Work closely with architects and designers to ensure MetroWall products are specified during the design phase of projects.
2.6. Collaborate with Project Consultants and Estimators to facilitate seamless project hand-offs and ensure timely follow-up on opportunities.
3.1. Utilize the CRM system to log activities, track progress, and ensure data integrity across all accounts and opportunities.
3.2. Maintain an active and robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-up and progression of opportunities through the sales funnel.
3.3. Provide regular reports and updates to management on pipeline health, key wins, and challenges.
4.1. Stay informed about industry trends, project developments, and client needs within the NYC Architectural and Design community.
4.2. Advocate for MetroWall by contributing to marketing initiatives, such as case studies, white papers, and social media engagement, to enhance the brand’s reputation.
