Job Description
Provide support and analysis for the software applications within the NOV Business Applications portfolio. The Business Analyst works closely with NOV Business Stakeholders, Product Owner and Business Relationship Managers to gather and document business requirements, recommend solutions and conduct user acceptance testing. Assists in the implementation and maintenance of business applications, troubleshoot issues, and provide training and support to end users. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a general understanding of NOV business processes, are essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with other Business Analysts and assist the Product Owner to:
•Determine the business needs by working with Stakeholders. Elicit requirements, document the current state process, and determine the future state process
•Maintain consensus among Product Owner (PO) and Stakeholders (business and technical) on requirements
•Track, communicate, and proactively follow up on issues and monitor resolution progress
•Communicate risk in terms of the impact of requested changes and provide options to manage/mitigate i.e.
+ Offer scenarios that include Happy path, Alternate path and Exception path process flows
•Anticipate requirements that will be needed in the future or that have not yet been considered that are essential to successful outcomes
•Clearly communicate the Requirements and Acceptance Criteria (AC) when creating User Stories
•Develop and maintain the Product Backlog
•Collaborate with the PO/Business Stakeholders to prioritize the work for the upcoming quarter
•Create data for end-to-end testing
•Test end-to-end scenarios
•Plan and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
•Prepare the PO to present to stakeholders at Progress Review meetings
•Create training documents as required
•Support rollout of software
•Support the PO on other tasks as necessary

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

•Understanding of complex database design to analyze or troubleshoot issues
•Experience with Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies; Scrum, Kanban, and other iterative practices at enterprise level application development
•Understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
+ Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other Office tools - required
+ Microsoft Visio or Miro - desirable
+ Postman (for executing and testing Application Program Interface (API) calls) - desirable
+ Atlassian Jira for Kanban or Sprint planning and progression - desirable
+ PowerBI for metric dashboarding - desirable
Education And Experience Qualifications
•BA or BS or equivalent degree preferred and 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst
•A candidate with extensive NOV Tuboscope Product Line experience
•International travel is required
