Burn Shop Lead FT

Maverick Engineered Products located out of Bridgewater, New Jersey is in search of a full time Burn Shop Lead.

General Description: Responsible for overseeing the daily production of Burn Shop, Inventory Movement & workflow process (Paperwork)

Duties and Responsibilities:

General:

· Conduct job duties in a safe and controlled manner, operating equipment within the designated capacity at all times.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

· Act as a working supervisor, fill in where needed, and perform all functions necessary to ensure production, material handling, shipping, and receiving needs are being met on daily basis.

· Other related duties as assigned.

Inventory:

· Support Production Manager to ensure accurate inventories and cycle counts are conducted on all material & shop supplies in a timely basis; coordinate and assist in inventory counts and audits as needed.

· Notify management of excess inventory conditions

· Notify management of missing inventory for review and action.

· Assist when necessary the unloading and loading of trucks and railcars. Ensure material is assigned and stored in the correct inventory location

· Ensure that questionable material received is immediately segregated and identified prior to being released for use and all claim material is returned to source in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable procedures such as communication with purchasing and accounting departments

Production:

· Management of Daily Schedule provided by Production Manager

· Inspect progress of workers’ assignments daily. Record, evaluate, and report progress and production rates and tendencies as required.

· Ensure COMPLETE and ACCURATE documentation of all materials consumed and proper accounting of all finished product produced and ensure once the work order is complete, that all of the paperwork is returned to the office.

· Coordinate with material handler(s) to ensure adequate supply of raw materials for production needs

· Communicate with appropriate departments to ensure that inventory department is providing appropriate or optimal materials to ensure maximum sales margin (to best knowledge) and also consuming undesirable materials in accordance with company guidelines and policies.

· Ensure production workers and / or general laborers perform inspections in accordance with the quality control standards and order requirements. Serve as secondary QC inspector.

· Review production orders and projected demands as needed and assist in scheduling all work centers to satisfy the production demand on a timely basis. Review and/or edit shop work orders as required.

· Ensure all work centers are prepared for scheduled production and that all materials, setups, and production documentation are present and correct to enable timely and continuous production.

· Ensure production setups are completed as required.

· Ensure all work centers are prepared and ready for the following shift.

· Ensure complete documentation of parts inspected on appropriate paperwork as required.

Maintenance:

· Manage inventory of burning consumables & required tools for cleaning/packaging

· Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate individuals, and perform minor repairs as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skill Sets:

· Basic mechanical aptitude

· Basic mathematic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

· Dexterity skills & Balance

· Repetitive lifting up to 75 pounds

· Ability to lift (with hands & arms), bend, stoop, squat, stand or walk for extended periods of time.

· Acceptable oral & written communication skills

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior experience helpful.
