The Panel Shop Lead will oversee and participate in the assembly of industrial control panels and enclosures built to IEC and UL 508A standards within our Panel Shop, part of the Tech Services Department. This position is based in Odessa at our West Texas facility. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical panel building, an understanding of regulatory standards, and leadership experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the panel assembly team in adherence to IEC and UL 508A panel build standards.
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure all panels meet applicable standards and customer specifications.
- Supervise and participate in enclosure layout, component mounting, wiring, and cable routing according to best practices and standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe panel shop work environment.
- Load and unload materials and finished products as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams for materials and build coordination.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Annual pay of $62,000 - $83,000 per year.
This is an hourly position starting at $30-$40 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant field or panel shop experience required.
- CAD experience required (AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent).
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field.
- UL 508A or IEC standards training or certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of IEC and UL 508A control panel standards.
- Soldering skills and familiarity with terminal crimping and wire preparation best practices.
- Familiarity with enclosure thermal management and wiring derating guidelines.
- Proficiency with small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- NetSuite experience or familiarity with similar ERP systems.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic, flexible environment.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on continuous process improvement.

- Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work with hands for extended periods.
Travel Required
Occasional travel may be required but is not a regular part of the role.
