Step into the heartbeat of a coal transshipment terminal
Each shift begins with safety at the forefront. You’ll review the Safe Work Instruction Program, walk the conveyor lines, and check PLC-driven systems to keep the terminal running smoothly. Your mechanical expertise ensures our equipment is ready to move coal efficiently from rail to vessel—safely, reliably, and on time.
What a day can look like
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair bulk material handling assets, including conveyor systems and related machinery.
- Read and interpret prints, schematics, manuals, and drawings to diagnose issues fast.
- Weld with an oxygen/acetylene torch at various angles and steel thicknesses; lay out and fabricate parts for minor repairs.
- Perform millwright tasks like bearing changes and motor alignments to optimize uptime.
- Rig safely while working around cranes and hoists; operate a crane truck when needed.
- Operate mobile equipment to support maintenance and transshipment activities: forklift, manual shift truck, JLG man-lift, and crane truck.
- Step in to cross-train and assist with loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes during terminal operations.
- Work independently at times, including in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather conditions.

- Certified welder with 3–5 years of hands-on experience.
- Mechanical troubleshooting across heavy equipment and industrial automation.
- Comfort with PLC environments and conveyor systems.
- Proficiency with common hand tools and strong rigging fundamentals.
- Clear verbal and written communication and solid basic math skills.
- Stand for prolonged periods, often while using tools.
- Rotating shifts and weekends are part of the role; overtime as required.
