Bookkeeping Assistant

We’re looking for a detail-loving, numbers-savvy Bookkeeper to keep our Mitten Mart Convenience Store running smoothly behind the scenes. This part-time role is perfect for someone who enjoys accuracy, organization, and being a trusted part of a close-knit team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys working independently, and wants flexible hours.

You will undertake a variety of tasks such as auditing and balancing division paperwork, as well as receiving and processing invoices. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities.

Responsibilities

- Audit division paperwork for Convenience Stores by verifying, allocating, and posting details of transactions to accounts.

- Reconciles and balances accounts by maintaining accounting records.

- Compiles reports to show statistics such as over & shorts, bank deposits, and other store information for final posting.

- Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to the Corporate Accounting team

- Data Entry

Skills

- Proven experience as a bookkeeper

- Familiarity with general accounting principles

- Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality

- Computer savvy with working knowledge of related accounting software or the ability to learn new software quickly

- Exquisite math and numerical skills

- Outstanding organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

- Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving

- High school diploma or equivalent required
