Auburn First United Methodist Church (auburnfirstumc.org) is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our staff team. The ideal candidate will be detail orientated and skilled in tracking and recording expenditures, transfers of funds, compiling reports, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Primary duties will include Record all transaction expenditures & revenue; Prepare, coordinate signing, and mail and distribute checks; Produce financial reports (i.e. budget to actual, balance sheets, profit & loss); maintain accurate general ledger & designated accounts; fact-checking accounting data; create payroll and file all payroll related taxes; prepare & distribute all W2s and end of year reconciliations; track all savings account CDs; file quarterly and annual reports as needed;
And notify treasurer, supervisor, and pastor of any errors.
Qualifications for this Position include Associate’s Degree or significant related work experience; excellent data entry skills and payroll accounting skills; detail orientated and ability to work with or without supervision; exceptional organizational skill; experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines at the same time; maintain confidential information; and excellent written and oral communication skills in conveying complex data in a clear way.
All staff will successfully pass a background check and complete ongoing Safe Sanctuary® training as prescribed by the United Methodist Church.
Compensation: $24-27 per hour; Paid Time Off;
Work Schedule: 10-12 hours/week. Work schedule to be self-determined in coordination with Pastor.
