Billing Specialist

What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a Billing Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing across complex projects, helping maintain strong financial health and client satisfaction. Key Role Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit time and material (T&M) and milestone-based invoices, including AIA formats

- Review contracts to validate billing terms, retention, and scope alignment

- Track and reconcile accounts receivable; follow up on outstanding payments

- Process change orders, lien waivers, and retention documentation

- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure billing accuracy

- Maintain organized billing records and support month-end revenue reporting

Who are You?

You should possess the following qualifications for this role:

- 3+ years of experience in construction billing or accounting, ideally in commercial or healthcare sectors

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with intermediate to expert level Excel skills

- Familiarity with AIA documentation, cost-plus and fixed-price contracts

- Understanding of mechanic’s lien laws and retention procedures

- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

Bonus Points:

- Experience with Viewpoint Vista and Textura construction software

- Experience with job costing and budgeting principles

- Knowledge of compliance documentation in regulated environments

- Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business, or Construction Management

- Notary Public commission is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
