GENERAL SUMMARY:

This mid-level position is responsible to assist in the installation, monitoring and servicing of automation equipment in the oil and gas industry; this position will work with senior level I & E technicians, project managers and/or programmers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•

Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor and isolate problems and perform repairs for various Oil & Gas applications with limited supervision.

•

Provide field service as needed to maintain operational readiness

•

Troubleshoot and diagnose various electronic equipment to isolate faults with an automated system.

•

Provide professional communication to company personnel and answer questions as needed

•

Comply with all applicable safety rules and environmental responsibilities

•

Responsible for assisting in commissioning new facilities

•

With limited supervision, configuration and setting up of all instrumentation and applicable feedback to PLC.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

•

Have a background of system startups and commissioning

•

Familiarization with voltage application 120vac, 24vdc, 12vdc

•

Familiarization with Analog, HART, and Modbus protocols

•

Comfortable with Microsoft applications is a plus (Word and Excel)

•

Skilled with hand and electrical tools

•

Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner

•

Must have experience with pressure transducers, tank level transmitters, Networking TCP/IP, Solar Powered Systems, fuses, breakers and surge protectors and wiring schematics

•

Set up cellular networks and interface equipment

•

Competent in the use of handheld meters and equipment used in simulation and troubleshooting

EDUCATION, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE:

•

High School Diploma or GED is recommended.

•

Minimum of 3 years’ experience with instrumentation and automation equipment.

•

3 years’ experience working with cellular communications and IP address schemes.

Work environment: High exposure to elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or moderate noises.

This position is primarily a field environment with minimal time spent in an office environment
